Over the last 2 years, I made many changes and I took the year off. I took a long hard look at what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. I had a fuzzy vision and I was feeling that I was not progressing the way I wanted. I felt like I had traded my old corporate job for a new corporate job. As Micheal Gerber says, I was technician that now owned my own business. I knew in my hear that I was on the right track, but had not found the right way.
I did the unspoken thing that so many “coaches” do…. I went back to a day job. Yep, I let go of the stress, panic and overwhelm and I paid the bills. Then I spent the next year digging deeper into my soul to get a FULL picture of my vision.
Now with a full vision, I could re-approach all the aspects that I needed to work on to get me moving in that direction.
With that in mind I started to look at my role. I got basic:
- I am passion
- I am a wise women
- I am a woman
- I am a daughter
- I am a sister
- I am a mother
- I am a partner
- I am a lover
- I am a teacher
I was not a coach… I was a teacher. I had always been a teacher. That was what my heart & soul told me.
I use coaching tools, I use teaching tools, I use mentoring tools… I am a teacher. I am on the earth to share my experience and teach people.
For me this decision brought me great peace and a new clearer vision of where my life will lead and with a new course set in, a new passion to accomplish great things!
So why did you choose to be a coach? did you pick it because you are called to coaching… or because it is a trendy profession?
Do you really feel like a coach or are you really a teacher? I don’t know these answer for you, but I believe that it is worth some time and clarification. If after a review or your soul you still feel you are a coach, perfect! If you don’t feel it, what is your next step? what is your next evolution?
