Countdown to Triathlon 2010

Last week was pretty good.ย  I got out there 5 or the 7 days.ย  As the next few weeks come along I will increase the training to 2 sessions a day and more bricks.ย  Bike is all tuned up and new semi-slick tires for the race ๐Ÿ™‚

Here is what I got done!

Sunday โ€“ rest day

Monday โ€“ Run/Walk 2.5km

Tuesday โ€“ 60 mins bike ride

Wednesday โ€“ Running – 1mile in 16 mins & Swimming lessons – I was pretty happy with the run, I hit the treadmill to help with some intervals.

Thursday โ€“ rest day – I pulled a muscle in my necks at swimming lessons – heavy on the pain killers right now, but still training.

Friday – Running – 3km in 30 mins

Saturday โ€“ Kicked Ass on bikingย  20 kms in 55 mins – the first time I have done 20k, I am hoping to get that under 45 mins for race day.

Things I learned this week:

  • it is all about the time now!
  • ouch, swimming has been the hardest part of training!

Goals for the Week July 18 – 24

Running – mon, wed & fri work on speed, this weekend see how fast I can finish 5km.

Biking – 30 mins rides X3 during the week

Swimming – Every Morning at least 45 mins in the pool. It is all about the practice now!

Focusing on swimming now… whatever I need to do to get the meters done in under 20 mins.ย  I will be training every morning and hoping to get into the lake ๐Ÿ™‚
