I use Genesis for all my own sites and I use the most appropriate theme for clients (most often Genesis), Brian and the team have made it super easy to add Google Authorship to your site.
Just open the Genesis SEO settings and select which user profile you want the home page of the site assigned to.
- For a single author site, it should be your profile
- If you have a multi-author site like ours, you will need to decide who is the best person to have the site assigned to
Now if you are running the WordPress SEO plugin, Click on Titles & Metas , then open the Home tab and select the user you want for your homepage.
Now Check and see if it is working correctly
The first thing to check is to make sure your WordPress site is outputting the correct hidden HTML that Google needs. To check this you can view the source code of your website using any browser, and look for a line of code <link rel=”author”… Here is the sample from this site:
